Man is a destructive force to nature. Nature is often built over, pushed away, and entrapped. Nature will always come back but for a brief time is captured.

Process: First, I determine where I want to shoot. For this project as well as "Time's Fist", I shot images at public parks. When shooting, I am generally drawn to angles created by objects, shadows, and even the composition of the scene itself. After culling the many images shot, I pooled together the images that had dead or dying nature due to manmade things. I edited the ones I believed to transmit the message the best.

Challenges: There were issues with cropping on a few, most notably the "river trash". There was a railing in the shot which was out of focus. I had to rotate and crop the image as little as possible to keep the resolution. Additionally, the leaf in the "wasteland" image was barely visible and editing the colors to bring it out proved to be a challenge.
Ultimatly, these issues were resolved.

This series was printed, at 11x14, placed in matted black frames, then displayed in a cross formation at my Senior exhibition "Circadian".
